In November 2008 voters approved Measure A, an amendment of the District’s existing parcel tax that increases the tax by $193 and extends its term for an additional four years, to 2018.
For 2012/13 the parcel tax will be $767.94 and will increase 5% each year through the 2017/18 tax year.
Parcels owned and occupied by senior citizens may be exempt from this tax if they have attained 65 years of age or over before July 1 of any applicable year who uses that parcel as his or her principal place of residence, upon application for exemption.

The exemption will continue for each year the applicant remains eligible during the assessment period without the need for annual reapplication.
