Budget Advisory Committee (BAC)

A School District Budget Advisory Committee is typically a group of individuals, often including district administrators, school board members, teachers, parents, and community members, who work together to review and provide input on the school district’s budget. Their main responsibilities include:

  1. Reviewing financial information: They analyze the district’s revenue, expenditures, and financial reports to understand the budgetary needs.
  2. Advising on priorities: The committee offers recommendations on budget priorities, such as staffing, programs, facilities, and resources, ensuring that the budget aligns with the district’s educational goals.
  3. Engaging the community: The committee may facilitate community input, hosting forums or surveys to gather opinions on the budget and ensuring transparency in financial decision-making.
  4. Identifying areas for improvement: Members review past budgets to identify areas where spending can be optimized or where cuts might be needed without negatively affecting educational outcomes.
  5. Making recommendations: After reviewing all financial aspects, the committee provides recommendations to the school Board or superintendent on how to best allocate resources for the coming fiscal year.

The committee’s role is advisory, but their input helps shape the final budget proposal before it goes to the school board for approval.

All meetings will be held from 3:30-4:30 p.m. on the following dates:
