The Board approved the completion of the Design Development phase for the Mill Valley Middle School Modernization Project and authorized the project team to move forward into the next stage of design.
The Design Development phase included refining the campus plans, evaluating construction costs, and confirming that the project remains financially viable while meeting state requirements for school modernization. This work ensures the project continues to align with the District's priorities and available funding.
As part of its action, the Board approved the recommended design direction and authorized District staff and the project team to begin the Construction Documents phase. During this next phase, architects and engineers will prepare the detailed plans needed for construction while continuing to refine the design, identify cost-saving opportunities through value engineering, and ensure the project remains aligned with the approved budget.
The Board also directed that any significant changes to the project's scope, budget, or design identified during the Construction Documents phase be brought back for Board review and consideration before implementation.
